Team WaR have revealed their new Call of Duty roster in time for the Minnesota and London events later this year. The team is ranked No.1 in the world heading into the first event on January 24th.
With a full-European line-up, Team WaR is stacked with talent as three players remain from last season’s roster. Let’s take a closer look at the players that make up this top-seeded squad:
Dave “Dqvee” Davies
Dqvee has been involved in competitive Call of Duty since 2014 and has established himself as one of the best players in the game. With over $80,000 in prize money he has always been a prominent figure in European Call of Duty. The 21-year-old has previously represented Epsilon and Lightning Pandas. He also represented Team WaR towards the end of last season, placing 9-12th in the CWL Championship and 2nd in the CWL Amateur Finals in Miami. He will certainly be one to watch in the upcoming path to pro tournaments.
Adam “Peatie” Peate
Peatie is also a well-experienced member of the squad having competed in over 70 tournaments resulting in over $70,000 earned in prize money. He has represented the likes of Vitality, Epsilon and Team Infused during his career but has never truly established himself as top professional player in the scene. His experience, ability and in-game leadership will make him a key player in this roster going forward.
Stephen “Vortex” Allen
Vortex is the third member of the squad who represented Team WaR last season. The 22-year-old has won over $90,000, competing under organizations such as Splyce, FAB and Epsilon. One of his most notable achievements is placing 4th at CWL Championship 2016 with current teammate “Dqvee”. It will be interesting to see how his raw talent helps his team perform in the coming months.
Tom “Moose” Handley
Moose is one of the top players in European Call of Duty. However, he has struggled to cement his place on a top team in the pro scene. A player of Moose’s quality is a good pick-up for any team, especially an amateur team looking to progress in the path to pro circuit. Having played with a variety of notable players during his career, it will be interesting to see how Moose fits in to this stacked European roster.
Bjarne “Denza” Sleebus
Denza has been competing since 2014 but is yet to find himself on a pro team. The Belgian national caught the eye of many in the European scene with “Dqvee” and co managing to snap him up. Denza is an interesting player with a lot of potential and he has a lot to prove in a team full of European talent.
After a string of dominant performances in online tournaments, can this team prove themselves in a LAN environment and show why they are the number one seed?
