L.A. Valiant’s Kit Kat Rivalry Weekend rapidly approaches

Kit Kat Rivalry Weekend

The final week of the Overwatch League’s second season is upon us. On Saturday and Sunday the L.A. Valiant’s Kit Kat Rivalry Weekend will end Season 2 with a bang, as both California teams go head-to-head. This will be the third ever Homestand Weekend, and it promises two days of action-packed Overwatch at The Novo in Los Angeles. For some teams this will be the last opportunity to clinch a playoffs spot and secure their chance to compete for the Championship title.

On Saturday, August 24th, The Atlanta Reign will be facing off against the Dallas Fuel, the Boston Uprising take on the NYXL, the San Francisco Shock will fight the Vancouver Titans for supremacy, and in a highlight match, the L.A. Gladiators will be going up against host L.A. Valiant. On Sunday, August 25th the Hangzhou Spark start the day off by taking on the Shanghai Dragons, the Atlanta reign will rise again to quell the Boston Uprising, NYXL will face the inevitable Vancouver Titans, and the San Francisco Shock ends the season against the L.A. Valiant.

The L.A. Valiant stands at number 13 in the Season rankings, needing 2 more wins if they want a shot at playoffs. Unfortunately, when you look at their competition for this weekend, it doesn’t look promising. The Valiant is a mid-tier team at best, whereas the San Francisco Shock and the L.A. Gladiators are at the top of their game. We’ve seen teams reinvigorated by their Homestand events, so maybe the L.A. Valiant can make a miracle happen.
