The Call of Duty Championship never failed to surprise with wild storylines being created year in, year out. Since the birth of the prestigious tournament in 2013, it has given us some of the most memorable moments in esport history. 5. Fariko Impact win the first Call of Duty Champs
The unstoppable squad of “KiLLa”, “Karma”, “MiRx” and “Parasite” bagged themselves $400,000 as they won the very first Call of Duty Championship in 2013. From the beginning of the tournament, the Fariko boys looked dangerous. Beating the likes of OpTic Gaming and compLexity Gaming in the run-up to the final, Fariko Impact looked destined to take home the trophy. They finished the tournament in style beating Team Envy with Adam “Killa” Sloss making this famous play to win them the final map.
4. Scump 3-piece vs compLexity
The Black Ops 2 Championship was not only one of the greatest CoD’s, it also produced some of the greatest moments in the history of the esports. One of these being Seth “Scump” Abner destroying three complexity players in quick succession to secure third place for OpTic Gaming. With two of the best teams in games, tensions were high, and the trash talk was flowing.

3. OpTic Gaming knocked out by Cloud9
This moment in the Call of Duty World League Championship 2016 remains one of the biggest upsets in Call of Duty history. OpTic Gaming was the most dominant team in Black Ops 3 and they were heavily tipped to win Champs. The squad of “Crimsix”, “Karma”, “Scump” and “Formal” had been an unstoppable force since joining together under OpTic during Advanced Warfare. The only thing left for them to accomplish was winning Champs and cementing their dynasty. However, Patrick “Aches” Price and Cloud9 had other things on their mind than OpTic Gaming’s legacy and boy did they let them know it.
2. Team Envy make the 0-10 comeback vs eUnited
Team Envy looked down and out in the Call of Duty World League Championship 2017. A strong eUnited team had a 10-0 lead in Uplink against the Boys in Blue. However, the tables soon turned as Envy strung together perhaps the most impressive comeback ever seen in competitive Call of Duty. Not only was the comeback impressive to watch, the Astro Gaming listen-in provided us with an amazing insight into the team’s communication during the action.
1. OpTic Gaming win Call of Duty Champs 2017
In perhaps one of the most iconic moments in Call of Duty esports, OpTic Gaming hoisted the trophy at the Call of Duty World League Championship 2017. Hundreds of thousands tuned in from around the world to witness arguably the greatest Call of Duty team ever finally break their Champs curse. A dominant performance against fierce rivals Team Envy gave OpTic Gaming the fairytale ending they deserved, cementing their status as a dynasty in competitive Call of Duty.
