Amidst the Houston Outlaw’s organisation shuffle, Chris DeAppolonio has announced that he will be stepping into the role of President. In June earlier this year, owner of the Houston Outlaws and Optic Gaming, Infinite Esports & Entertainment, was bought by Immortal Gaming Club for a rumoured $40M USD.

Chris DeAppolonio was the former VP of Partnerships for Infinite Entertainment, but his bio on Linkedin has been changed with the comment below:

I am extremely excited to announce my new role as president of the Houston Outlaws. Moving forward, I will be leading business and team operations for the Outlaws, one of the most popular teams in the Overwatch League. The brand, players, and staff are near to my heart having worked on partnerships and marketing for the Outlaws over the past 18 months in my previous position. The future is very bright for our team; we have the best fans in the Overwatch League, an undeniably popular and memorable roster of pro players, and an unmatched ability to provide national and local esports promotional opportunities.”

The Outlaws were formerly under Optic Gaming, but Immortals Gaming Club has decided to split the Outlaws from Optic as a whole. Immortals Gaming Club already owns the Los Angeles Valiant and due to Overwatch League regulations, no one organisation can own two teams simultaneously. Lee Zieben, a Houston real estate investor, has agreed to purchase the Houston Outlaws from Immortal Gaming Club sometime this month.
