Gambit Esports sign promising Apex Legends roster

Apex Legends Characters

Gambit Esports have just announced their signing of the Fire Beavers Apex Legends roster, who were without a doubt one of the better squads available to the organisation. The team recently attended the Faceit Pro Series after consistently placing highly in weekly tournaments, going on to win the main series and taking home $10,000 USD.

In the CIS region Fire Beavers placed second in the Apex World Tour tournament, making them one of the most attractive teams for potential buyers. Furthermore, each player has seen success prior to forming their 3-man team as it currently exists. Tishchenko “Artyco” Artur has already landed first-place victories in other minor tournaments such as the Apex on Dlive, and Per siigN Stian Venås’ time playing for Luminosity’s H1Z1 team has clearly given him a natural advantage over his competition.

The roster has also produced quality talent in the past. Their regional rival, ROFLANQ, is another top CIS team, with many of their current players former members of Fire Beavers. In addition, Kiril ”9impulse” Kostov moved onto Na’Vi in June. This is yet another sign of the talent available in the CIS region, adding to the increased attention the region is receiving. This also gives credit to Gambit’s coach, Dmitry “slimer” Shaposhnikov. With Gambit Esports dropping their CS:GO roster, they have been in the market to gather up CIS teams. The move seems like a great fit for the Russian org.

The roster will make their first appearance representing their new organisation in the Apex Legends Preseason invitational on the 13th- 15th September. The event will be hosted in Krakow, Poland, where they will compete against many other big names to fight over a $500,000 USD prize pool.

With the backing of a major CIS esports organisation, it will be interesting to see how this roster grows. Furthermore, we must wonder whether other top-tier CIS orgs will join the Apex Legends esport, especially considering the recent growth in the scene. The success of the Apex Legends Invitational will likely indicate the level of interest in the game from other professional organisations.
